Hi Family and Friends!
This last week has been amazing. I love being a missionary for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Chloe is progressing toward her baptism this coming Saturday. We taught her the Word of Wisdom, Law of Chastity and Tithing this last week. She started to attend Seminary this last week and has found good friends there. I am really excited for her.
I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it to her baptism this coming weekend. I am transferring to be a zone leader in the same stake I just spent the last 7.5 months in. I will also be assuming part-time vehicle coordination for the entire mission, and be in a missionary tri-panionship with Elder Ward and Washburn (two Elders I have gotten to know well over the last few transfers). I knew I would be leaving, but wasn’t sure where. Since I am staying within the zone, I can attend Chloe’s baptism! Hooray!
We met a man names John this week. We were tracting some doors in an apartment complex, he quickly invited us in and started asking us lot of really good questions. We quickly turned to the restoration to answer his questions and such. We left him with a Book of Mormon and set a return
appointment. He gave us his address and phone number… We went home and looked through some old notes, and realized that we received a referral
from a member in another ward with this same address and phone number. We had contacted this referral a few months ago (this member helped this
FAMILY move, and they asked how they could repay him, he told them if they ever met two guys in white shirts and ties, let them in). We went by a few months ago, and the wife and daughter didn’t seem interested at all… We met John actually at a patient’s house where he was working assisting them. When he let us in, in actuality it was the patients living room.. He told us he really didn’t believe in Jesus Christ, I looked around the room and
saw many pictures and statues of Christ… He explained, it made more sense. Anyways! I know the Lord does not do Random! He puts people in our
path for us to find!
Cory made it to the regional broadcast yesterday for the entire region of Central America. (My brother watched the same broadcast on his mission in
Ft. Collins). He really loved it. Many of the topics were about the temple, because a temple was just dedicated in Ft. Collins and Star Valley, Wyoming. Cory really wants to be able to goto the temple and this has helped fuel his fire. He really struggles with keeping commitments, such as attending church and such. I have come to love Cory while being here in this area.
Other than that, for the sake of being long winded, I have absolutely loved serving in this area. It has taught me so much about being a missionary,
and a Son of God. Words cannot describe how I am feeling right now, but I do know I love my Heavenly Father because of what he has given me.
Don’t ever forget who you are. Make it the best week yet.
