New Transfer #4 and Baptism!

Hi Friends and Fam!

Rinoa got baptized on Saturday in Texas!!!

She is such a stud! She has been wanting to be baptized for over a year now, and now that happened! She is getting confirmed this coming Sunday in our ward. Rinoa is amazing, she has such a love for people, and wants to do her best.

Me and Elder Roundy went over to the Earl’s home on Scott Air Force base for thanksgiving. We were going to have dinner with some investigators, but the plan didn’t end up working out. Anyways, we had dinner with 4 other families in the ward who live on base over at the Earls. It was fun!
Otherwise this week has been slow….

James is continuing to come to church. We are working with him to set a baptismal date. He is struggling with the concept of modern day prophets. So we gave him some general conference talks to read and are going to go over the restoration with him soon. We are also trying to help him to stop

Lileishia and Tashema were very excited when we presented the stop smoking workshop. We are going to set a date with them that they will stop by. We visited them last night. Lileishia is pregnant. For any mother out there, smoking and pregnancy = not good mixture. The Blackham family is taking good care of them. Lileishia apologized for avoiding us for the last two weeks. I know that the Lord needs us to reach out to her. Many times that we’ve met her, are “coincidences” and when we’ve talked to her, she received it well. It was really hard for me and Elder Roundy because she was told to watch out for the Momons and a bunch of other horrible things, and she avoided us for 2 weeks. It was a miracle that she moved out of that place she was in, and into Tashema’s house, who is a less-active. We knew we couldn’t help her progress if she didn’t get out of that horrible environment. I know the Lord loves all his children, and he wants them to be happy.

Jermaine, Mimi and Shakira helped sing in the youth choir on Sunday. Elder Roundy and I were also part of it. The choir sang a really hard song Let us all press on by MOTAB. They loved it! It was really fun!

Can’t believe another Transfer went by! Wow, 6 weeks goes by fast. Elder Roundy and I will be staying here till after the new year and through Christmas. He is only 1/2 the way through his training, and its good to know that I’m not being replaced because I’m not doing a good enough job,

The Church came out with a new Christmas Initiative: Please check this out! It is amazing! And ask your missionaries in your ward for some pass along cards, They go great with gifts and of the such you give to your family and friends!

Brothers and sisters, if you ever think that the gospel isn’t working so
well for you, I invite you to step back, look at your life from a higher
plane, and simplify your approach to discipleship. Focus on the basic
doctrines, principles, and applications of the gospel. I promise that God
will guide and bless you on your path to a fulfilling life, and the gospel
will definitely work better for you.

My second suggestion is: start where you are.

Sometimes we feel discouraged because we are not “more” of something—more
spiritual, respected, intelligent, healthy, rich, friendly, or capable.
Naturally, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve. God created us
to grow and progress. But remember, our weaknesses can help us to be humble
and turn us to Christ, who will “make weak things become strong.”4

Satan, on the other hand, uses our weaknesses to the point that we are
discouraged from even trying.

Keep pressing forward!! Let us all press on.

The Gospel is True. I live it. I Love it!
