Happy Veterans Day!

Hi Friends and Fam!

Hope your week is going well. Me and Elder Roundy have had a good week here.
Lots of changes happening. The Centerville Branch, who covers Centerville and East St. Louis is getting dissolved and put part of the Fairview Heights ward. The Centerville branch only has about 10 attending members from that area, with many implants from surrounding wards. Its hard because many of the members that attend that branch get to church via walking or the bus. Many don’t have cars. The Fairview Heights ward meets up at our building, which is for us a 15 min drive away. Members from East St. Louis have to travel farther to get to church once this take affect starting this Sunday. Because of that, we are loosing our part-time car use for our area because of some missionary district changes because we cannot use the branch building anymore. But the Lord has his plans, and knows far better than we do. We have a good transportation system here in Belleville, just have to plan ahead. We will need some very warm clothes for this winter.

Jermaine is getting Ordained on Sunday and becoming a Teacher. For those who don’t know, when you are 12 years old, you receive the Aaronic Priesthood, or the preparatory priesthood. Just like the Apostles long ago who lived when Christ was on the Earth who held the Priesthood, it has been restored today. Those apostles held the Melchizedek Priesthood. When you are about to serve a mission, or turn about 18, you can then receive the Melchizedek Priesthood, just like those Apostles long ago. Paul for example, he did missionary work, just like what 85,000 missionaries do today. Check this out: www.lds.org/topics/melchizedek-priesthood?lang=eng
Sister Wilson is doing much better, recovering well from her few hospital trips this last month. Still Smiling, even more now.

Rinoa is scheduled to get Baptized at the end of the month. We have really enjoyed being able to be in the Johnson home to teach her. She is so excited and has a strong testimony. Things are doing well for her.

We met with Lileishia (this is how its properly spelt) this week. She really has a desire to attend church, however she is really scared to change and do new things. She didn’t attend this last Sunday because of this. We had a great lesson with her, teaching her how to pray this last week, and even though really awkward for her, she did end up doing it! She really needs prayer in her life. People go through so much, that we can’t even begin to imagine ourselves, but God understands them, and knows exactly how we need help.

Dr. Dorthy is a 95 year old lady we stop and see in Mascoutah about every week. She isn’t expecting to live much longer. We really love her, because she is just one of those people who gets life. She is so knowledgeable, and always asks “So, what do you have to report?”.

We are really focusing for the next few weeks of strengthening the members in their missionary work through studying Preach my Gospel at dinner appointments with them. Starting it a week ago, we have seen some really good things happen. Preach my Gospel is the missionary really “how to” guide. Bishop Smith is really focusing the ward on the “Work of Salvation”, and we are starting to see many great things come about. It has made me really excited!

Alma 34 –

19 Yea, humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him.

20 Cry unto him when ye are in your fields, yea, over all your flocks.

21 Cry unto him in your houses, yea, over all your household, both
morning, mid-day, and evening.

22 Yea, cry unto him against the power of your enemies.

23 Yea, cry unto him against the devil, who is an enemy to all
righteousness.

24 Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them.

25 Cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.

26 But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closets, and
your secret places, and in your wilderness.

27 Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full,
drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the
welfare of those who are around you.
Many feel that prayer isn’t necessary. Let me tell you, it is something I
Cannot live without. Answers do come! God listens to his Children and loves
them. Reach out!

Thank you for all your prayers and support. I pray that you will have a great week!

The Gospel is True! I live it! I love it!
